Edmonton Firefighters Are Giving Their All!
05 Mar, 2010
Roof top Edmonton Firefighters are preparing for their biggest annual fundraising event for Muscular Dystrophy Canada, a winter Rooftop Campout from March 9-12, 2010. For the fifth year, five of Edmonton’s bravest will spend three nights in a tent on the roof of Station #2, no matter how cold the temperature. Their goal is to surpass the nearly $60,000 they raised last year.
Funds raised will help the more than 300 individuals in the Edmonton area who are affected by one of more than 100 neuromuscular disorders and are registered with Muscular Dystrophy Canada. In addition to funding leading research to find the causes, treatments and cures for these disorders, Muscular Dystrophy Canada also provides the support that these families need - education, information about neuromuscular disorders, funding for mobility equipment, advocacy and peer support.
Fire Fighters have been partners in the fight against muscular dystrophy since 1954, raising in excess of $2 million per year. Edmonton Firefighters have been actively involved since 1971, and over the years, have become leaders in fundraising, public relations, and creating awareness in their community, their province and their region.

Donations may be made on location at Stn #2, at any fire hall, online at www.muscle.ca/campout, or by telephone at 780-489-6322 ext 25.
Welcome to the new EFFU website
24 Oct, 2009
Fire Fighter's Memorial The Edmonton Fire Fighter’s Union began its existence in 1917 and has served the citizens of the city of Edmonton in the protection of its people and property. While the heart of firefighting has not changed since these early years, the methods, risks, and issues surrounding firefighting have changed dramatically. As a result, it is more important than ever for EFFU members to be informed and involved in the current issues of firefighting so that we can be assured that our concerns are heard and acted upon.

Information technology and New Media have also exploded over the last decade and are now a primary way of distributing information to the public, politicians, and our members. This EFFU website has been created to keep members informed about the many activities and objectives of this union. It is the desire of the union executive to make it easier for members to find the information they need and to be informed about issues that require immediate action.

Some of the resources that the new EFFU website has are:
- Electronic shift calendar
